Fender achieved great success in 1993 with the “Tweed” series of amplifiers. The concept behind it was: what would happen if a great collector amp from the 1950s, like a ’50s Deluxe or Bassman , was modified with channel switching and reverb? Here’s the Reissue Blues Deluxe – a vintage-style tube amp with a boutique sound and an incredible price, which many pros have used for rock, country and blues with excellent results. Like its newer cousin, the Hot Rod Deluxe, it has many modern features, and many pros request it for the warm sound, unique circuitry, and look so true to the original versions. The Reissue Blues Deluxe develops 40 watts on a 12″ Special Design Eminence cone thanks to two 6L6 power amps and three 12AX7 preamp tubes. Its two channels, Normal (with bright switch) and Drive, are ideal for classic blues, country and rock sounds; other features include Fender spring reverb, effects loop and two-button footswitch. The winning look consists of tweed upholstery, “chicken beak” potentiometers and a chrome panel.
