The Boss OC-3 can use up to three different modes of operation as an octaver. The new Polyphonic Octave Mode, the Drive Mode in which distortion is added to the octave effect, and the OC-2 compatible mode that offers the same effect available in the OC-2. All modes can still count on a particular accuracy and stability of operation (fundamental for this type of effect) thanks to the use of the most advanced DSP technology. When the bass input is used, the OC-3 self-programs itself in the pitch range so it can provide the best bass performance.
