The RD-700SX includes at the basic level three different piano sample sets: a new 88-key multilayer multisampled timbre, the Fantom-X series multilayer piano timbre, and the sample set from which qualitatively important piano timbres within Roland’s catalog The RD-700SX uses two independent MIDI OUTs and is therefore suitable for best handling the control of multiple sound modules or midi instruments in general.
The USB port allows connection to the PC/MAC both for passing ordinary midi data and for transferring/saving SETUP data. It is also possible to transfer an SMF via USB to the RD-700SX and send it to playback without the need to have an external sequencer connected thanks to the SMF Play function.
