The Subsequent 37 is a paraphonic (2-note) analog synthesizer built on the award-winning architecture of the very powerful Sub 37 Tribute Edition. On the control panel are 40 potentiometers and 74 selectors for immediate control over a wide range of analog sound design tools and sequencer control. The Subsequent 37, as requested by users, now implements several improvements both sonically and functionally. Each enhancement retains the magic and features of its predecessor while offering access to new dimensions of sound and improved playability.
The mixer section of the Subsequent 37 offers twice the headroom of the Sub 37 Tribute Edition. This provides access to a new range of clean classic sounds in both mono and duo modes. Taking advantage of the mixer’s new flexibility, the gain stage in the Ladder filter has been redesigned to increase harmonic saturation and analog compression, leading to an overall enrichment of the low end. To complement the sonic evolution of the Subsequent 37, we have revised the Multidrive circuit, which now extends far beyond the “grit and growl” of the original Sub 37. In addition to the sound engine enhancement, the Subsequent 37 offers an updated keyboard for improved playability, an upgraded headphone amplifier powerful enough for use with the most demanding headphones, and a software plugin/editor for both Windows and Mac.
