If you imagine a 5-string bass built in the 1970s, the image would be very similar to that of the Stingray 5 Classic. The Stingray 5 Classic pays homage to the original design of Music Man’s mid to late 1970s basses with the addition of modern refinement. The through-string bridge, mute kit, nickel frets, and 7.5″ fretboard radius are key features that harken back to the early days of Music Man production. The bass features a modern neck attachment to the body with six screws and a convenient truss rod. The tone of the StingRay Classic remains true to the original with an ash body, 2-band EQ and Music Man Alnico pickups.
