The EVH95 Cry Baby EVH Wah was developed after an intensive collaboration with legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Early in the design process, Eddie handed Dunlop his wah pedal, a standard Cry Baby customized in the early 1990s with a High Q inductor and a wider frequency range. Surprisingly, Dunlop found that over the years Eddie’s style of wah use, which focuses mainly on the midrange, had carved its own curve in the pot resistance, making the midrange more defined and increasing the depth of the low frequencies. Dunlop cloned the characteristic elements of that wah, recreating the sound of Eddie’s pedal and, together with graphics based on the famous yellow-and-black striped guitar used in Van Halen II, gave this pedal a legendary sound and look.
