Overdrive built in collaboration with Davide Pannozzo, ultradynamic and transparent, based on the TS808-TS9 ( intergrated JRC4558 ) , but with an idea inside:
A lot of even famous guitarists ( e.g. Scott Henderson, Michael Landau, etc ) use an overdrive followed by a distortion set to minimum gain, this is to be able to get the overdrive pulp but the higher harmonics ( much sought after by all guitarists ) generated by a distortion.
Basically the DP9 does this; it is an overdrive ( very warm and dynamic, without that much hated bass cut, with more gain than a TS9 and more dynamics thanks to the use of mosfets and led diodes instead of the traditional silicon diodes ) that however also moderately distorts the high frequencies ( from about 1000 Hz upwards the progressive and linear mode ).
A 3-position switch selects the 3 modes of operation: Modern=Overdrive, Vintage= Crunch very Fender BlackFace and Clean= Dynamic Boost + 26dB.
This Overdrive, besides responding great in clean Fender type amps and perfect for boosting modern head amps as, with high Gains, it becomes a superior harmonic generator!!!
