To make the HT-5R MkII sound full and rich even at lower volume levels, Blackstar has designed a low-power push-pull amplifier that produces the crunch and break-up characteristics of a traditional 100W output stage, but at a much lower volume.
This is achieved by using a 12BH7 dual triode tube in a push-pull configuration that produces a 5-watt output, rich in harmonics and tube compression. The Power Reduction switch takes you down to 0.5 watts with no compromise in sound—perfect for driving the tube power stage at home or in the studio. Our patented ISF circuit gives you infinite adjustment of the sound characteristics and takes you from the US to the UK.
