Launched in 1988, The Guv’nor was the first pedal to encapsulate the sound of the “big black box,” i.e., the iconic Marshall heads, in a “little black box,” i.e., a compact pedal. Today, with this vintage reissue, the Guv’nor is back in the spotlight. Since its initial release, The Guv’nor has set the standard for distortion, from smooth overdrive sounds to powerful, high-gain distortion.
This faithful reproduction stays true to what made this pedal so special. The pedal’s design is carefully modeled after the original: from its unique shape with individually colored knobs to its instantly recognizable sound, everything has been meticulously recreated in the same factory that has been building Marshall amplifiers for 60 years.
