The main new feature of the PolyTune is that with a single strum, it shows the status of all the strings in a selected tuning. In other words, if we’ve selected (using the button on the back of the pedal) the E tuning—that is, the “standard” tuning—a single strum will display all the strings, and with a little practice, it will be immediately clear which strings need to be tightened and which need to be loosened. When you strum just a single string, it shows you the note you’re playing and how well you’re in tune. Using a button on the back of the pedal, you can choose whether to display the classic needle or opt for other interesting display methods. With a single button, you have a tuner that shows all the strings at once for a quick overview, and if you simply need to lower the sixth string from E to D, the tuner quickly switches to chromatic mode.
