Following the great success of the Little Mark Vintage head units that ushered in a new era, Markbass has designed the MarkVintage Pre, a new pedal-operated, true bypass tube preamplifier ready to become an indispensable tool for professional bassists. The MarkVintage Pre offers a wide range of options, from modern timbres to vintage sounds, plus many other features that will satisfy any need. 4-band equalizer, 3-position selector to select preset EQs, Drive control with two types of distortion that can be mixed to the Clean sound thanks to the Blend control, +6dB Boost, auxiliary Aux-In and headphone output, send/return jacks for effects, DI output with dedicated transformer, and, based on an idea suggested by top artist Marcus Miller, on this pedal we added RCA (with transformer) and Toslink digital outputs with sampling rate selector 44. 1/48/96KHz, making it the perfect tool for bassists working in the recording studio. A state-of-the-art tool that allows everyone to get professional-quality sound anywhere from the studio to the stage.
Features:
The Mark Vintage Pre features a 12AX7 preamp tube (ECC83) that delivers a rich, warm sound full of harmonics
Wide range of tonal options: this preamplifier offers a broad spectrum of sonic possibilities, from modern to vintage timbres
4-Band EQ / 3-Way Selector: as in the Little Mark Vintage heads, the 4-band EQ section has new settings calibrated to offer a sound that can easily come out of the mix, as well as a 3-position selector that allows you to choose as many EQ presets to very quickly achieve a truly FLAT sound, a CUT sound with the midrange frequencies dug in and gain on the highs and lows, and an OLD sound with the high frequencies cut off to evoke more vintage sounds
Two Types of Distortion / Blend: The Mark Vintage Pre offers two types of distortion, selectable by pedal. The amount of gain, with values ranging from a crunch sound to very aggressive distortion, is controlled by the Gain knob. The Blend control allows the Drive sound to be mixed with the Clean signal from the preamp. Adding a little bit of distortion during a studio recording gives a great bass sound that comes out great in the mix
Boost switch raises the signal level by +6dB to instantly get more headroom when needed, such as during a solo part
Transformer DI output: The balanced DI output represents a true DI box with a dedicated transformer and is optimized to deliver rich, full, pure timbre that can handle extreme transients without introducing distortion or coloration to the sound.
Digital Outputs: Developed from an idea suggested by top artist Marcus Miller who was looking for a small professional unit for studio recordings, the RCA (with transformer) and TOSLINK digital outputs with 44.1/48/96KHz sampling rate selector make this pedal the perfect tool for bassists who need to record. With the Mark Vintage Pre you can get professional quality sound anywhere from the studio to the stage
Aux Input / Headphone Output / Effects Loop: The Mark Vintage Pre includes a headphone output and an AUX input to which you can connect an iPod or MP3 player whose signal can be mixed with the bass signal, allowing you to play and practice anywhere, anytime without disturbance. In addition to this, there is an Effects Loop with Send/Return jacks to use your favorite pedals and multieffects
True Bypass: This pedal has a True Bypass circuit. This means that when the Mark Vintage Pre is turned off, there will be no signal loss
