The new BB features a multilayer maple/alder construction. The maple core increases the body’s rigidity and accentuates the midrange to cut through a band’s mix and allows for more even transmission of vibrations between the body and maple neck for unparalleled resonance and sustain. The Miter system holds the neck tighter and closer to the body by fusing these two separate components into one. Compared to a traditional neck joint, the Miter joint offers a more effective transfer of string vibration throughout the body for improved sustain and exceptional resonance that brings every note to life. Yamaha BB700 models feature a specially optimised active/passive circuit for fine tonal control and extreme flexibility. This updated circuitry has been taken over for the BB for sharper sound and improved mids via a matched output level in both passive and active modes, and switching circuitry that moves seamlessly from treble control to passive master tone.
