Nitro Mesh Kit is an electronic drum kit composed of the homonymous sound module with 40 ready-to-use sound kits (24 presets, 16 users, plus 11 additional General MIDI) programmed using the integrated wavetable composed of 385 percussion samples, snare drums, bass drums, toms and cymbals, 4 dynamic-sensitive 8″ rubber pads, including a dual-zone snare and three single-zone toms, plus 3 10″ pads dedicated to crash (with choke function), ride and hi-hat with their respective pedals.
The kick drum pad comes with a dedicated pedal. The sound module of the Alesis Nitro drum kit, with a polyphony of 64 voices, includes a programmable metronome and sequecer for a playback speed that can be set in the range from 30 to 280bpm to support you during training. Music tracks are available in “Normal” mode, while in “Learning” mode you’ll find 20 beats, 12 rhythms and 10 preset patterns.
To set up the kit you will find a solid aluminum rack with 4 legs. The equipment is completed with all the necessary cables for connection, so whip for connecting the pads to the sound module, a pair of drumsticks and the power supply for connecting the module to the power outlet. On the connections front, the module offers a USB port for MIDI connection to your Windows PC computer, or Apple MacOS, then to control and play from the pads your virtual instruments and your favorite DAW software, traditional MIDI IN and Out ports on DIN connectors, an auxiliary stereo input on 1/8″ TRS mini-jack connector for connecting CD/MP3 players, stereo out (L/R) 1/4″ Jack format and headphones. There are two inputs for connecting additional trigger pads: one TRS (Tom 4) and one TS (Crash 2).
Compared to other kits in this price range, Alesis Nitro allows a configuration of the various trigger inputs, then the setting of parameters sometimes essential for a better customization of the kits, from crosstalk to the response curve and dynamics, from sensitivity to threshold.
