Timbrically, the layered rosewood back and sides pair beautifully with a solid Sitka spruce top for enveloping projection and a versatile sound profile. This updated Plus model features black binding and a high-gloss finish throughout the body, along with a Venetian cutaway, 4mm Dot inlays, and ES2 electronics for a plug-and-play amplified sound. Traditionally, electro acoustic guitars employ piezoelectric under-saddle transducers, but Taylor has discovered a better way.
The revolutionary Expression System 2 uses a proprietary pickup behind the saddle. The three individually calibrated and precisely placed piezoelectric sensors respond organically to the instrument’s acoustic energy when it is transferred through the saddle. In tandem with the Taylor-designed preamp (which provides a 25 percent warmer signal), the result is a more natural acoustic sound with incredible dynamic range and responsiveness to pick or finger attack.
