Takamine’s G Selected Series follows the line traced by the success of the Pro Selected project, which was able to bring the Japanese manufacturer’s luthier excellence to a standard of style and sound closer to the taste and demands of homegrown guitarists. The “aged” look, Grover Style tuning machines and the highly successful cedar/mahogany combination add the finishing touch to the unique style of the series. Amplification of the G Selected Series is provided by the excellent Takamine TP-4 preamp, the company’s super-tested system, in two versions: TP-4T for Series 1 guitars and TP-4TD for Series 3 and 5. Extremely intuitive EQ and Gain controls, it mounts an accurate chromatic tuner and features convenient front access to the battery compartment.
