This fully analog design uses true optical gain control (lamp and photocell) and, unlike most pedals, has a gain reduction meter on the top panel so you can see its actual application. The unit was designed with guitarists (both electric and electroacoustic, as well as bass) in mind, but the inclusion of an active/passive input switch means that instrument-level signals can be adapted, making it practical to process synths and other electronic instruments.
