It is difficult to add overdrive to acoustic guitars: apart from sounding unmusical, it could cause sound-destroying feedback. Designed specifically for use with acoustic instruments, the fully analogue Smolder Acoustic Overdrive elegantly solves these problems thanks to Fender know-how. To soften the bright attack of a piezo pickup, a Pickup Compensation control is included that softens the treble. The Drive knob controls the amount of distortion, while the 3-band EQ and Filter controls allow you to shape the sound to your taste. Fender has even included cabinet simulation for better results when connecting it to an amplifier or a full-range PA. Designed by the in-house team of experts, the Smolder Acoustic Overdrive is a completely original Fender circuit. The chassis is made of lightweight and sturdy anodised aluminium, while the gem-like LED gives the pedal its classic Fender look. Selectable LED-backlit knobs allow you to locate control settings at a glance, even on a dark stage.
