Moai Maea is KMA Audio Machines’ answer to long-forgotten analog octaver sounds. The pedal generates a higher octave and up to two sub-octaves, which help generate a huge wall of sound by playing a single note. The higher octave has an edgy, fuzzy character reminiscent of the old octaver sounds of the late 1960s and early 1970s, used by legends such as Hendrix or The Stooges. Sub-octaves turn your guitar into a dirty bass with flickering low end. Choose from first (-I), second (-II) or both (-I / -II), which give the wall of sound you’ve been looking for.
The Moai Maea also gives you the ability to create an individual mix of each generated octave and the original signal. To expand your soundscapes, the pedal features a series-buffered FX-Loop within the clean path, plus a phase inverter to prevent phase cancellation when combining signals in this way. Each octave section is footswitchable. You can toggle the highest octave on and off by jumping on the Shriek switch and sub-octave via the Drone switch. So if you’re looking for a pedal for that extra touch to your guitar sound, Moai Maea might be the nirvana you’ve been looking for.
