MXR’s M169 Carbon Copy Analog Delay has an all-analog audio path to give you a rich, warm delay; this is only possible because of old-school “bucket brigade “technology (developed in 1969 by F. Sangster and K. Teer: the stored analog signal is moved down the capacitor line, one step every clock cycle). This design boasts an extraordinary 600ms delay time (Delay Time) with optional switch-selectable modulation and three simple knobs that control delay time (Delay Time), effect mixing (Mix), and effect length (Regen), all in a pedal no larger than a Phase 90.
In addition, two internal Trims offer the user the ability to adjust amplitude (Width) and speed (Rate) of modulation for additional timbral possibilities. The Carbon Copy will range from a crisp “Bathroom ” type echo to epic Gilmour-esque delays with just the turn of a knob. True-Bypass, 9-volt power supply and a blue-colored stage LED complete the package.
