The Strymon name is synonymous with top-quality effects pedals, a leading name in the construction of effects that have become an essential part of famous and not-so-famous pedalboards. The DIG Dual Digital Delay is, as the name suggests, a pedal containing two delays. The two delay effects are linked by synchronised rhythmic subdivision, which means that the tempo set for the delay named “1” will also dictate the tempo for the “time” parameter of the delay effect “2”. The latter will instead set a rhythmic subdivision that can be selected through five configurations: triplets, octaves, “golden section”, dotted eighth, dotted fourth.
Strymon has also added the possibility of de-synchronising the two delay times through what is called ‘free mode’, for an even wider range of creative possibilities. Repeats can also enjoy three modulation settings: off, light and deep. The light and deep modes allow the modulation effect on the repeats to be emphasised to a greater or lesser degree, a feature that fits perfectly with the voicing selection for the delay. The new DIG Dual Digital Delay is in fact equipped with three voicings, two vintage-style and one markedly modern and hi-res: 24/96, adm, 12bit. The wealth of controls has always been a characteristic feature of Strymon products, and with this new DIG Dual Digital Delay the company has not failed to provide the guitarist with a product that can become a true creative medium.
