The UCX continues RME’s long tradition of designing compact interfaces that pack into half a unit what normally occupies three 19” panels. Already in this respect the Fireface UCX sets a record in the category: the half-unit rack chassis hides 300 electronic components, more than the Fireface UC (which already has a remarkable density)! As many as 50 components are dedicated to shielding the high-quality internal electronics from the DSPs, the beating heart of the interface. RME engineers have produced yet another design effort to implement the very latest technologies, already present in the Fireface UFX, plus a host of brand-new innovations, within a portable half-rack-unit interface. The result is a striking combination of RME’s most successful products: the Fireface UFX, Fireface UC/400, and Babyface.
