1957 was the year of the introduction of humbucker pickups in Gibson’s catalog. They were a great innovation in terms of sound, and thanks to their warm and powerful tone they soon became a standard, as well as a true icon of music.
Gibson Custom produces today, as then, the famous “Les Paul Goldtop”, just like in 1957.
On a technical level we are talking about instruments that represent the maximum ever reached by the Gibson Custom Shop in terms of accuracy and quality: they contain all the technical innovations introduced in 2019 – such as the period-correct capacitors and the Custom Bucker finally “unpotted”, along with all the wealth of experience and quality generated by the recent True Historic series, which has allowed the production of the Gibson Custom Shop to make a sensational leap forward.
Even at the aesthetic level we find details such as the material of the inlays, the color point of the Goldtop, carefully studied and reproduced to perfection.
