(RM5-26) General MIDI ROM Overview

To expand your K2600 sound palette, you can add additional ROM Soundblocks to your K2600 series instrument. These ROM blocks add a large, unique collection of instantly-available sounds to the permanent internal sound memory.

The K2600 exclusive General MIDI ROM Soundblock provides instant access to the General MIDI 1 program set. The General MIDI soundblock provides 8 MB of sounds, along with 128 Programs and 8 Drum Kits.

Along with the General MIDI Soundblock, Kurzweil has enhanced the K2600 Operating System to provide easy access to a General MIDI operating mode. In this mode, the K2600 selects only GM programs, and behaves as a GM module.
