Nord Electro has long been favored by those who require a high-performance yet compact stage keyboard, and now there is the version 6 to consider. This one includes three independent sound sections and a simplified user interface, and promises to be the most powerful and flexible Electro yet. On the performance side, there are now seamless transitions between sounds and programs, and it is 3-part multitimbral. You can split and overlap all three sections, there are six split points, and can crossfade between them.
The Organize mode, meanwhile, allows you to organize your programs, sounds and el pages as you wish. The Organ section has been expanded with a couple of new pipe organ models and a dual organ mode that offers quick access to dual manual configurations. There is expanded polyphony in the Piano section, as well as dedicated piano filters to accentuate softness, mids or brightness. The Sample section, meanwhile, has twice the memory of Electro 5 (512MB compared to 256MB) and also benefits from expanded polyphony. As before, there is also a full Effect section. The 6 HP version includes a 73-key hammer-action keyboard and LED drawbar.
