The Katana MkII takes the acclaimed Katana series of guitar amplifiers to the next level, turbocharging the basic platform with more sounds, more effects, and more features. New tone variations are now available for all five “Amp Characters,” doubling the sound options. The internal effects categories have been expanded from three to five to offer an even wider choice of real-time processing. Usage options also improve, with an input to the power amp for modelers and multi-effects, simplified stereo expansion for two-amp setups, updated software editor, and many more improvements. The Katana MkII’s five main sound characters cover from vintage organic sounds to modern high-gain tones, along with a dedicated voice optimized for electrified acoustic guitar.
Now the characters have been extended with new timbral variations, and offer a wider palette of sound options to bring your personal sound to life. Katana MkII now includes five categories of simultaneous effects, and puts the power of a large pedalboard inside from the amp. The independent Booster, Mod, FX, Delay and Reverb sections are factory set with three variations each, and offers 15 effects to choose from. Plug in the Boss Tone Studio and you have in-depth editing to customize the sections with over 60 different types of effects, changing the order with four different concatenations, and many other options. The Katana-100 MkII has line, USB, and headphone/recording outputs with miked cabinet simulation, so you can send mix-ready amp sounds to your PA system, DAW on your computer, or headphones. Direct sound can be optimized with three different Air Feel settings accessible from Boss Tone Studio. Two-channel USB operation is supported, allowing you to create stereo tracks with Katana’s modulation, EQ, delay, and reverb effects.
