Renowned guitarist Ichika Nito has gained his worldwide following and reputation through a unique combination of complex techniques and a distinctive sound that is easily identifiable. He equally fascinates music fans and musicians with his unconventional and experimental style and completely original musical approach, through which he has become a favorite musician and a major influence for musicians around the world. Of all the options available to him, Ichika chose Ibanez’s Q (Quest) headless series on which to base his new signature model.
This guitar largely adheres to the specifications and design of the Q54, with some notable modifications. Ichika’s guitar is equipped with three Ibanez proprietary R1 single coil pickups instead of the standard HSS configuration. This configuration helps accentuate Ichika’s emphasis on tonal clarity and bright, glassy sounds to balance the highly rhythmic and percussive elements of his playing. Ichika’s exciting and original signature design takes advantage of Ibanez’s original hardware and pickup design, and will serve as an indispensable resource in expressing his ever-evolving musical style.
The Dyna-MIX 8 offers eight sound variations and can switch between humbucker and single coil modes with a simple flip of the mini switch. It even simulates a humbucking sound from the combination of two single coil pickups.
