Launched in 1976, the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble was not only the world’s first chorus pedal effect, it was also the very first BOSS pedal. Three years later, this inventive new sound was injected into the famous blue CE-2 Chorus pedal, and chorus pedals have remained in the compact effects line ever since. Forty years later, the spacious, modulated timbre of this iconic BOSS effect is still loved by musicians around the world. In 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS innovation, the original sounds of this analog chorus are reborn with the Waza Craft CE-2W. The CE-2W’s Standard operating mode faithfully recreates the classic chorus sound of the CE-2, adding a wide soundscape thanks to the stereo output, which was not present in the CE-2 mono. CE-1 mode reproduces in their entirety the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary CE-1, with the addition of an intensity control that was not available on the original pedal. To commemorate the birth of BOSS effects, the CE-2W is built entirely in Japan, just as was the case with the original CE-1 and CE-2.
