Friedman IR-D represents an entire Friedman system packed into a compact pedal suitable for pedalboards. IR-D boasts two completely independent and identical footswitch-switchable channels based on Friedman’s renowned designs. This Dave-modified JTM45 circuit offers the distinctive British tone for which Friedman is renowned. Powered by two high-voltage 12AX7 preamp tubes, each channel delivers the harmonic richness and tactile responsiveness typical of Dave Friedman’s best designs. The cabinet/amplifier DSP simulation sends studio sound, achieved by miking, to your DAW or Front-of-House. The IR-D offers intuitive controls, avoiding complex menus and 100-page manuals.
The IR-D does not simulate a Friedman tube preamplifier. It is a true tube preamplifier. While many available preamp pedals use tubes to “warm up” their digital or solid-state circuits, two 12AX7 preamp tubes switched on at full power, operating at the correct high voltage, form the beating heart of this pedal. An authentic preamplifier in every respect, the IR-D offers all the tone, response, gain characteristics and harmonic complexity expected of a Friedman design.
The IR-D boasts two completely independent and identical footswitch-switchable channels based on Friedman’s legendary Dirty Shirley/Twin Sister design. This Dave-modified JTM45 circuit offers the distinctive British tone for which Friedman is renowned.
