Part of the Alvarez Grateful Dead Series 2019 collection, the AF60GD-Sunshine Folk/OM acoustic guitar continues their celebration of the Grateful Dead’s artwork, one of two limited run designs featuring the band’s iconic imagery.
The Grateful Dead AF60GD “Sunshine” design features one of the coolest of all the Dead’s skeletons; the guitar player, sitting on a rock wearing a red, white and blue top hat. The original artwork was created by the wonderful Tim Truman and is used to form part of this guitar’s overall summer vibe. It is named with a nod to the second track on the album – “Here Comes Sunshine”.
This is a stunning guitar, and captures the spirit of Tim Truman’s many contributions to the band’s artwork. Due to careful design and Alvarez’s MST1 bracing architecture, this great OM has a rich open tone with excellent response making it a really fun guitar to play. Other features include a flawless gloss top that beautifully showcases the artwork. In the fingerboard there is a 12th-fret lightning bolt inlay, and to complete the vibe, a Dancing Bear sketch on the back of the headstock.
