Bass Station II is a monophonic analog synth based on the original Bass Station, a synthesizer introduced some 20 years ago that quickly became a classic that characterized much of the music of the 1990s. Now the second version of Bass Station takes advantage of the technologies developed in those years for a synthesizer completely redesigned for the 21st century. Bass Station II has two filters, two oscillators with a third sub-oscillator in support, the ability to save patches, and a fully analog effects section. Add to all this a step sequencer, an arpeggiator, a keyboard with full-size keys, and a powerful modulation section, and you have the complete overview of the features of this absolutely extraordinary synth. The new Bass Station is designed for low frequencies but capable of much more: its synthesis engine is built to handle bass lines but is extremely versatile and capable of producing effective lead parts and impressive arpeggios as well. The signal path, including the effects section, is 100% analog. The layout of the hardware unit is designed in modules with dedicated potentiometers, selectors, sliders and buttons associated with all major parameters.

The unit already has 64 impressive presets, another 64 free slots are then provided with the possibility of saving more to computer.The keyboard provides 25 ‘full size’ keys all velocity sensitive and with assignable aftertouch and has been made with a special ‘synth-action,’ a special key mechanism with immediate touch response designed to work best with the built-in synthesis engine.Bass Station II also is a ‘class compliant’ device with MIDI input and output that can also be naturally connected to the computer via USB.
